Based on the Statutes of the BDD, the following criteria for membership have to be met:
Private investigators, who do not yet meet one ore more of the criteria 1, 5 and 6 but passed the examination, may be accepted as temporary members.
Private investigators remain in the status “applicant” until they have passed the examination.
Applicants stemming from closely related former professions may on request receive a waiver from the examination.
Applicants can use all of the BDD Service provisions but are not entitled to vote nor post requests and are not eligible during the annual assembly.
There are certain relaxations for international applicants, which can be obtained from the BDD Central office.
